Health Outing

On Sunday, August 12, the Grand Forks Seventh-day Adventist Church will be holding a SUNDAY HEALTH OUTING @ 9 am, beginning at the Grand Forks church.

This event will include the following activities:
9:00am – Potluck Breakfast
9:45am – Devotional
9:55am – Prayer
10:00am – Group Walk or Bike Ride on Bike Trails east of church

Requested breakfast items needed will include: Fruit / Eggs / Bread / Cereal / Peanut Butter / Juice / Etc.

Amended Church Service on June 16

This upcoming Sabbath (June 16th) will be camp meeting Sabbath in Bismarck. For those that are not attending camp meeting, there will be an amended service at the church, with Elder Troy Erickson preaching. There will NOT be any Sabbath School classes this day, nor will there be a fellowship meal to follow. Please join us at 11:00 am for the worship service.

Pathfinder Garage Sale

Thursday, June 7th, 9 am – 7 pm
Friday, June 8th, 7:30 am – 3 pm
In the church fellowship hall.

Proceeds will help fund next year’s International Camporee.

Prairie Voyager End-of-Year Program 2017-2018

Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 pm. Please come and support our students. See what they have experienced this year as they present an end-of-year program. We will also celebrate our 8th grade graduate! All are welcome! (This is a great opportunity to learn more about Prairie Voyager Elementary School.)

4th Annual International Dinner

Travel the South Seas at the 4th Annual Pathfinder/Adventurer International Dinner – Saturday, April 28 at 6PM. Bring an international dish to share, and invite a friend! Free-will donations will be accepted to offset 2019 Oshkosh Camporee costs. Come sail away with us!

Special Presentations March 17

Join us for two exciting presentations on Sabbath, March 17, 2018.
“How Christ’s Sacrifice Reveals God’s Character” during Sabbath Worship at 11:00 am, and
“God’s Tough Choices to Save or Destroy”, Sabbath afternoon at 1:30 pm.
A potluck lunch will be served between the worship and afternoon presentations.

Roy E. Gane is a Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Languages at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University. He has been at Andrews University since 1994, after teaching in the Religion Department of Pacific Union College from 1992 to 1994.

Originally from Australia, he earned his M.A. (1983) and Ph.D. (1992) degrees in biblical Hebrew language and literature at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gane is particularly interested in exploring ways that principles from biblical laws and sanctuary worship can guide and empower modern people who choose to accept transformation in Christ through the Holy Spirit in preparation for Christ’s Second Coming. He has given presentations on six continents at events such as camp meetings, pastor’s meetings, and Bible conferences.

He has published eight books, including:

  • God’s Faulty Heroes; Altar Call
  • Leviticus, Numbers (NIV Application Commentary)
  • Ritual Dynamic Structure
  • Cult and Character: Purification Offerings, Day of Atonement, and Theodicy
  • Who’s Afraid of the Judgment? The Good News About Christ’s Work in the Heavenly Sanctuary
  • In the Shadow of the Shekinah: God’s Journey with Us
  • and most recently, Old Testament Law for Christians: Original Context and Enduring Application (Grand Rapids: Baker Academic, 2017)

He also published numerous articles for referred journals and chapters in scholarly books, and he was the primary translator for the Leviticus portion of the Common English Bible (2011).
